The Number 13

Maxim Letour was a man that was superstitious about the number 13, but it was more than a mere superstition. It was a mental problem that was born in his youth from his grandfather who was a very eccentric and superstitious man. And it was through his grandfather that Maxim developed strange thinking habits about the number 13. The first evidence of his fear of the number 13 was when he was in school and the class was learning how to count and Maxim would refuse to say the number 13 on superstitious grounds. He would also not write the number down which gave him problems in mathematics.

​And whenever Maxim would see the number 13 written anywhere whether it was in a textbook or on a signpost he would immediately turn away and then mutter several sentences to prevent the curse of the number 13 from taking hold of him. If he ever heard the number 13 he would plug his ears with his fingers and recant several lines to reverse its curse. As Maxim got older his mind seemed to become more twisted as he became obsessed with the number 13 in his every day life and he would look for it in the strangest of places. He would not buy a product that had the number 13 on it and if his bill at a store had a 13 in it he would hold up the line while he selected another item to change the total on his bill. 

Then one day he was talking to a friend and this friend told him to be on the lookout for buildings or places that eliminated the number 13 and went straight from 12 to 14 because then the number 14 actually became 13. Afterwards Maxim noticed that in his apartment the number 13 was missing which he had not realized previously and also at his local supermarket there was no lane 13. He was happy that he knew about this trickery so he could avoid the curse of the number 13.

Then at the age of 22 Maxim murdered a man in cold blood, but his sentence was reduced to manslaughter and he was locked up in cell number 13 for a total of 13 years. And 13 days before he was going to be released from prison he was stabbed to death in his cell. His body was buried in the prison cemetery in the 13th row in plot number 13 on Friday the 13th.

After his death he arrived in hell through gate 13 and Satan took a branding iron burned the number 13 onto his forehead and onto his left ass cheek. Maxim then took the elevator down to the 13th floor underground in hell where he received 13 life sentences of eternity. There Maxim waited in his cell for a chance at parole so he could get out of hell and be accepted into heaven. Maxim tried for parole and was granted his wish by Satan on his 13th try. 

Upon arrival to heaven God asked him to through gate 14. Maxim looked to his left end there was no 13, so gate 14 became gate 13. Maxim looked at God who grinned fiendishly.
