The Death Desert

There is a vast stretch of desert in America where there are no gas stations, no people and no proper roads. Here in this vast stretch of land, where the temperatures reach in excess of 130 degrees fahrenheit, people look on their maps and see a short cut to get from point A to B through the desert, but some make it and some don't. For whatever reason in the massive, scorching area of desert, there is no cell phone reception and compasses go berserk and sometimes drivers lose track of where they are going and are never seen again. But not all cars disappear in the desert wasteland as the majority of them make it through. But every once in a while a car disappears without a trace. 

​Scientists have thoroughly studied the area and believe that there is some type of unknown magnetic force at a point along the dirt highway that causes the cars to veer off the road or head down another road going in the wrong direction. Soon the driver is disoriented and looks at the fuel levels in his car which are getting low, but there us nothing that he can do except hope that another car passes down the road to pick him up, but the chances are remote that this would ever happen.

There are several baffling aspects to the case of the missing cars. The first one being that none of the cars have ever been recovered and if the cars did run out of gas and the driver and the occupants were forced to walk there would have to be skeletal remains somewhere in the desert but there aren't. This leads some to speculate that there may be some type of unknown mystical forces involved with disappearances of the cars. One of the scientists had reported seeing several mirages in the desert which made him feel dazed and hallucinogenic. Unbelievablely he believes that the missing cars might have passed through into another dimension. There is no proof of it but some believe that there has to be supernatural forces at work because there are remains of cars or bodies.

Update: recently a group of amateur scientists were out in the vast desert to study its magnetic forces and came across the unbelievable. Inside a cave nearly fifty cars were found, all in perfect condition. The clothes of the missing people were neatly folded on the front seat of the car. Every one of these vehicles are connected to the missing people of the desert. Mysteriously there is no evidence of the bodies of the missing people, leaving the authorities baffled. The area continues to be searched.

What happened to the bodies? Were they abducted or did they meet with foul play? Until we find the answers to these questions the only witnesses may be the birds and animals that roam the desert at night.
