Jeff had been hanging out with the wrong crowd for a long period of time and recently he had been put in a position of great emotional turmoil as the hoods who he was hanging around with wanted him to become a full time criminal. As an initiation into the gang he was going to have to commit a murder of a rival gang member. Jeff acted cool and told his crew that it was going to be no problem but deep inside he was terrified because he was only a petty crook and not a killer. Jeff knew if he wanted to stay in the gang he could no longer stay on the fringes because now they wanted total commitment from him. His day had come.
Night after night he was unable to sleep. They had given him a week to decide what he wanted to do, but a week was not long enough for Jeff.
Then one evening as he was out for a walk he saw a man in a cloak light a fire. The man in the cloak then ran off into the bush. Suddenly a wall of fire appeared before Jeff and for reasons unknown to him he stepped through this fire and entered into another world. It was a world of hell on earth; a prison for murderers and thugs that had committed the most ruthless and evil crimes. There were no cells as the bars around them were an eternal fire. Jeffery looked at the all of the men in their cells who looked like animals. Their faces psychotic, their eyes vacant, their bodies rail thin with scolding burn marks. He could hear them scream in pain as a man in a black hood went from cell to cell and smoked them with a spiked whip. That's when he noticed that all of then men in the fire cells were people that were in his gang. This was their fate. He wondered if this would be his fate.
He continued to walk through the middle of the cells careful to keep away from the fires. Then an arm grabbed him and tried to pull him into the cell but the fire quickly burned the arm and the man in the cage screamed. Seconds later another man, this one with fangs smiled at him through the bars of fire and then lunged at Jeff in an attempt to bite him, but the man with fangs was snapped back by a chain.
Jeff did feel somewhat safe but then he noticed the bars of fire were beginning to dwindle and the men inside the fire cages were starting to get excited thinking they were going to be released. Suddenly Jeff was vulnerable as every one of the prisoners looked at him like he was a piece of meat. The fires dwindled even more and some of the men were trying to jump over them. Jeffery panicked and ran, looking back at the prisoners who were running towards him. He saw the wall of fire in front of him and in this fire there was a bible offering him and the prisoners one last chance at hope. Jeff and the prisoners dashed towards it and just as he was about to grab the bible and disappear through the wall of fire, one of the prisoners grabbed ahold of his foot trying to prevent him from grabbing the bible, but Jeff kicked the man in the head, reached for the bible and managed to crawl through the fire and back into reality.
Jeff was drenched in sweat, his clothes were torched and parts of his skin were burned. But he knew that he no longer wanted to continue in the gang knowing the path it would take him down in life. He called up the gang leader and told him he was turning away from gang and turning towards God instead.
