I lay down in my coffin at the funeral home. The lid was shut tight but I could still hear the priest carrying on the service. Minutes later he stopped speaking and I could hear nothing but silence. There I was thinking about what was going to happen next, somehow believing that I was going to come back to life in the flesh and blood. But then I realized that this was not to be and that my life had ended on earth and there was no way to go back to the present, unfortunately I would have to wait for my resurrection to happen at an undetermined point in the future. Until then all I could do was rest in my coffin. 

​I sat beside my father as he lay on his bed with an unknown illness. His sickness was acute and unexpected as he was incredibly healthy for his age of 100 and then one night he became violently ill and was rushed to emergency in an ambulance. I wanted to ride along with him because I felt certain that he would not make it to the hospital, but the paramedics said no, so I hopped into my car and raced to the hospital to be with him. By the time I arrived there they already had him behind a curtain and they told me that I could not see him because the doctors were running tests. The only thing they said was that he still was alive, but not conscious. The drama built inside me as I waited for almost half an hour. Finally they allowed me to go in and see him.
