Vice was his name and he was born February 17, 1961 in the small town of Lavoy, Alberta. He was born a healthy baby and was very normal except for one part of his body. His hands. It was not that they were large in stature on any account, they were in fact of a very normal size for a baby. But when the doctor who delivered the baby held him up, the baby cried and grabbed onto the doctor's finger and broke it. The doctor screamed and looked at his finger that was snapped into a ninety degree angle. He then looked at the baby in amazement, who simply gurgled and smiled.
The doctor then ran some tests on the child. Tests that would examine his hand strength and the strength of his overall body. The doctor held out a wooden stick in front on the baby, teasing him. Then like a lightning bolt the baby snapped it from the doctor and broke it in half. The baby laughed and tossed the broken stick to the floor. The parents were shocked and the doctor could not only believe the baby's hand strength but also his quickness with an ability to lash out like a serpent.
The doctor spoke to the parents who's last name was Grips, "I have never seen anything like this. In fact, I have never heard of anything like this. I am concerned not only for your safety but also for the safety of the baby. What will you name him?"
"Vice." Said the mother.
The doctor chuckled and continued, "I am not sure how to handle this. Come back and see me in a week. In the meantime keep as many objects away from him. And do not breast feed him."
After leaving the hospital the Grips brought the baby home. They set him down in the crib where in a matter of seconds he tore all of the bars off. Despite his immense hand strength he was very gentle with his parents. He had already learned what destruction his hands could cause.
The Grips family went to the doctor repeatedly and the doctor said that his strength control was getting better. The Grips said that Vice was breaking less things all the time. The years passed by and Vice went to his first day of Kindergarten where he could not shake hands with the children. The teacher laughed and said he would shake the child's hand. Vice agreed and crushed the teacher's hand like a potato chip.
As Vice got older he learned to be gentle and rein in his hand strength a little better, but the doctor said that it would be far from perfect and it would always pose a problem because his strength was directly connected to his reflexes and reflexes were something that nobody could control. But for Vice when things happened slow and deliberate he could control his strength better.
During an elementary talent show he tore phone books in half and would crush things in his hands wearing a special glove so he would not cut himself. What terrified people was the fact that his hands were quite tiny for his age. Vice also couldn't play sports because he would break all the equipment. In his teen years he could not have a girlfriend because when he got aroused he could not control his strength and would hurt her.
Life became lonely and Vice went on permanent disability when he turned 18 because he could not find normal work. He then received a phone call from a military surgeon who wanted to do a hand transplant. It was a most unusual surgery where the hands were cut off and replaced by a another's hands. Vice's old hands would then be studied and used for military experiments. Vice was hopeless and agreed to try anything.
The operation was a success and when Vice awoke from the operation he immediately grabbed the surgeon by the neck and strangled him to death. Another doctor stepped in and Vice choked him to death as well. Security rushed in and shot Vice in the head.
The director of the surgeons inquired to what had happened. The hand surgeon was now dead but an assistant answered the question in front of a board inquiry and said, "The hands he had transplanted onto his wrists had normal strength."
"Then what went wrong?" A board member asked.
The assistant paused and then spoke, "We used the hands from a recently executed serial killer."
