OFFBEAT / DARK HUMOR STORIES

My Stalker at Work

9/23/2020

Usually when a person has a stalker at work the stalker is interested in this person in a romantic way. But when I had a stalker in the workplace it was not a female but a male and this male was not romantically interested in me. This particular male named Tyler was the custodian at the store I was working at. He was in his forties, unmarried and lived with his grandmother. I had hired him and trained him so there was a certain amount of togetherness at work in the beginning but after I had shown Tyler the fundamentals of custodial work it was time for him to leave the nest and go on his own.
But he didn't and stuck to me like a full body leech. People at worked joked about our relationship and how he was always right behind my back and nicknamed him, "Tyler the Knapsack." At first it didn't bother me but slowly it started to grind me down. Everywhere I went he was there. He was still doing his job but as soon as he finished his duties he came right to me like a lost puppy.

Over time I began to accept my sidekick. I was simply too nice of a person to tell Tyler to scram. Tyler had developed all sorts of weird habits such as hiding behind things in the store and eavesdropping on conversations and then bingo! He would appear laughing and smiling. Other times a group of people would be having a conversation and he would come in late when everyone was laughing and he would start laughing as well even though he hadn't the slightest clue as to what we were laughing about.

Then one day I decided to give him the slip and go have a nap in my car on my break. I remember rolling down the windows and tilting back my seat. I began to doze off when something blocked the sun raying into my car. It was him. He was just standing there smiling and watching me sleep. I cracked a joke and we walked back inside the store together.

Later on that week he knocked on my office door and when I got up to open it he disappeared. Soon after I would leave the door open a crack and I would see his hand curve around the door jam and snap off the light. Things got weirder when one day I was sitting by the door and he pulled his hood over his face and came up behind me and put his cold hands around my neck. Enough was enough. There was no doubt that he needed to go see a mental mechanic to get a full inspection.

I stopped talking to him which made him try harder to get my attention, but I wouldn't bite. Some people tried to explain to him that his behavior was scaring me and he would have to change. When they told him this all he would do is smile and laugh. He kept following me around the store but at a distance. Soon it all reached a climax when he was in the warehouse and he started hollering for me to come over quick. I bolted over there thinking he was hurt.

Instead he was standing there grinning with his enormous penis hanging out of his pants. He got my attention.

Thirty minutes later two men in white coats took him away in a van.
