He had been a methodical serial killer for his whole life. He had outwitted the police and the F.B.I. with his methods and he vowed in his letters to them that he would never be taken alive. But now in his graying age he knew that technology and science had caught up to him and they had his DNA and they were tracking him with it. This was too far out of his knowledge, despite being a skilled surgeon and a master of the human body. DNA sequencing and the techniques that they used to track him were too complex to manipulate. He had to concede to this fact and make the final preparations for his ultimate departure, and this was a gag that people would be talking about for centuries and would put him in the history books, along with his one hundred plus killings.
In his mind, these killings were justified as he would be approached by someone that needed a kidney or some type of internal organ. He had access to the people that were on the donor list and dying. He would then stalk them and kidnap them and murder them all in order to harvest the organ needed from their body. It was gruesome and cruel but he thought it was a necessity, as to prolong a young life was much more important than to prolong an old one, he thought.
His last gag he had planned out for months and it would shock the world as it would cast great doubt upon who was the actual notorious serial killer who harvested organs. The night before his death he had decided to murder a prominent person who had been trying to put him in jail. The police found the body with a missing kidney, but they could not be sure when he had died.
The killer then dressed himself in his finest suit and combed his hair and looked at himself in the mirror and gave himself a wink. He brushed his teeth and rinsed his mouth. He then entered the funeral home and removed the embalmed body of the man he had just murdered and hid it in a closet of the funeral home. He then entered the coffin and closed the lid. Inside the coffin he swallowed a cyanide pill to end his life. And just before his last spasm of life he injected embalming fluid into his veins to preserve his body and put the needle into his inside jacket pocket. Then only seconds later he died a horrible death.
A day later the coffin was rolled out and hundreds of people lined up for the viewing of the body. And when the coffin lid was opened they were horrified to find the body of a man that they did not know. People gathered around to look at the body and that's when they realized that something was wrong with the body, but they were not quite sure what it was. The funeral director called the police and a thorough investigation was done on the body. And what was to be the killer's greatest moment turned out to be his worst as he had thought that by placing himself in the coffin of the man he had killed that it would be the ultimate mocking in the face of the police. But the truth was the police didn't even know who he was and had no clue he was the serial killer. And so the killer's legacy would never be known.
