HORROR / SUSPENSE STORIES

End My Misery

9/1/2020

The figure walked up to the front entrance of the farmhouse, hammered on the door and shouted, "Come on out you coward. I know you're in there."
The figure at the front door held a shotgun at the ready. From inside the father of the farmhouse opened the door. He didn't see the blast coming which hit him straight in the face. The wife ran to the door and saw her husband lying on the floor with no face and looked up at the man that was all too familiar to her. Then the second shot came, hitting her too, in the face, turning her head into a mist of red. The killer then cracked open his shotgun and reloaded the shells.

He then penetrated deeper into the small two room farmhouse. There was the seventy-five year old grandmother sitting at the kitchen table begging for mercy with her eyes. But the killer me felt no remorse and pulled the trigger giving the grandmother a charge in the face. Next, sat an invalid daughter, the age of fifteen. She wanted to run, but she couldn't even walk. He smiled at her and again pulled the trigger. She crumpled to the floor.

There were three more that he was looking for in the house, two girls and one boy which would complete his massacre of the family who had done him dirt. He moved into the second room of the farmhouse and shouted, "I know you're under the bed so come on out. I said come on out so you can meet your fate." He reloaded fresh shells into his gun.

Nothing happened and there was no response as the two young girls were hiding in the darkness in the corner of the room. The killer did not see them as they were to the right of him and by chance his right eye was a fake glass one. The two girls scampered past him and out of the room, the youngest of the two girls tripped over her mother's body. The killer turned around and pulled the trigger, but shot wildly and missed her. The two girls ran into the darkness of the thick bush. The killer then searched the house for the boy and when he was certain he was not there, he left.

One of the young girls had made it to safety at the neighbor's farmhouse where she told them what had happened. They immediately went into town by horseback to inform the police. Within an hour a police officer arrived at the farmhouse, but approached cautiously. The door was opened and the father's faceless body still lay in the doorway. The mother was in behind lying on her back with a hole in her head. The officer then saw the daughter on the bed with a gore face. He stopped and listened. It sounded like breathing and a raspy voice begging for help. It was the grandmother, she was asking to be saved. Her face lay on the kitchen table in a pool of blood. Somehow she was still alive. Slowly the blood of life ebbed out of her. She coughed and more blood drooled out of her mouth. The officer couldn't watch and listen any longer. He put his gun to her head and pulled the trigger.
