My wife and I were on holidays and decided to stop into an old style bed and breakfast that was just off the highway. We had thought about driving another 100 miles but I was exhausted from twelve hours of driving and all I wanted was a good meal, good sex and a good sleep.
We pulled into the bed and breakfast and grabbed our suitcases out of the trunk. We walked up the steps and rapped on the front door where an old lady with a haggard face of loose skin and wrinkles answered with a bit of an evil grin. We exchanged greetings and asked her if she had a room available for the night and she said she did. Upon entry we were acknowledged by her husband who was a little runt of a man who possessed the bushiest eyebrows I had ever seen and he was so hunchbacked that he was almost horizontal to the ground. He had to tilt his head all the way back to look up at us. He waved us in and took us up to our room.
It took us nearly ten minutes to get up the stairs with him leading the way. He opened the door to our room, looked up, grinned and told us that dinner would be at eight. He left, closing the door. I flipped on the light switch and looked around the room. A shiver racked through me. There were crucifixes all over the walls. But they were not your ordinary crucifixes, they were of the creepy variety. They were old, carved by hand and upon closer examination they appeared to be lifelike in a powerful haunting way. My wife looked at me with an uneasy feeling. There was a definite feeling of evil in the room and there was something else that was creeping on me but I had yet to figure it out. I continued to walk around the room in a trance and that was when I realized the room felt similar to the room in which the movie, "The Excorcist" was filmed. I wanted to share this feeling of dejavu with my wife but then decided against it as she was still white as a ghost and might have been thinking about the Excorcist as well.
Then about an hour later there was a knock at the door. I walked over and opened it up. It was a little girl that was no more than ten years old and looked like the girl from The Excorcist. She smiled and told us that dinner was being served. I patted her on the head, she gave me a dirty look and told her we would be right down.
Dinner was a splendid affair and was one of the best meals I had in a long time. My wife said that she was feeling ill and decided to go up to bed. The little girl kept looking at me and smiling which really spooked me out. Finally the lady of the house stood up and said, "Whose got room for dessert."
She wouldn't take no for an answer so I agreed. The husband and wife left the table to get the dessert and I was left alone with the little girl who gave me increasingly sinister looks, like she wanted to eat me.
Ten minutes later the couple came back with a platter covered with a lid, but one could see the chocolate sauce oozing from underneath it. The girl squealed, "I love surprises for dessert."
The old lady lifted the lid. I screamed. The little girl laughed.
Dessert was my wife's head on a platter.
