He Couldn't Shut His Mouth

​Over a decade ago I worked with a guy named Keenan Staret. We had been hired at the same time and became friendly from the first day. After a couple of weeks of working together I would give him rides home and we would socialize outside of work. At the time he was my only real friend at work.

​Then about two months into the job I started to become bullied by one of the managers. He would constantly say stupid things to me and make me stay long after my shift to complete a certain amount of work that he figured I should have accomplished. Meanwhile others would do half the work I did and they would take extra long breaks and leave early. I wanted to confront my manager but I was still under probation and was worried if I did say something that he would fire me. 

Instead of talking to my manager I confided in my friend Keenan about my problems and he seemed to be listening. But little did I know everything I was saying to him he quickly relayed it to the manager. It took me a while to figure things out but I did eventually. 

You may ask how I found this out? I'll tell you. I was upstairs alone in the lunchroom  when I heard the manager talking to one of the employees. The lunchroom was beside the manager's office so you could hear everything as the walls were paper thin. The voice that I heard was talking very excitedly. My name was mentioned many times but I could not hear exactly what was being said, but by the tone I knew it wasn't good. I left the lunchroom and walked down the hallway and hid in the locker room to see who was going to come out of the office. Two minutes later Keenan came out and that's when I knew why I was having so many problems at work with my manager.

I decided to freeze Keenan out and he quickly sensed it. He then started to spread rumors that I was talking rot about certain people. I had to try and explain to my co-workers that I had not said those things. Some of them believed me and others didn't. Days later he started rumors about my parents whom he didn't even know. This really annoyed me as he was saying that both of my parents were unemployed and living off the government. This, of course, was untrue. The weird thing about Keenan was he was a scrawny little runt that couldn't hurt a fly, but he had a big yap. 

Over time I found out that he was talking rot about several other people in the store, in particular about a chubby guy in the deli department. Keenan kept laughing at the guy and making jokes about his weight. 

Then one night before the store was about to close the chubby guy came into the store with a couple of his friends, who looked like fearsome dudes. The three of them walked in behind the deli counter and went straight for Keenan. They grabbed him and started to slap him around. Keenan cried like a little bitch. The chubby guy and his three friends then threw him onto the ground and started to lay the boots to him, shattering one of his testicles. Keenan begged for them to stop. They did when Keenan was half dead and unconscious.

As Keenan lay on the cold floor the chubby guy spit on him and said, "That's for calling my kid sister a whore!"
