Evgeni had lived a life of sin and violence since the day he was born. As a child he had been the subject of physical abuse through the hands of a teacher who did not like little boys. This teacher was sadistic towards Evgeni and would keep him after class and after school to teach the little boy some discipline through physical punishment. Evgeni was warned by the teacher to not tell his parents because if he did then he would be subject to further physical punishments. The teacher had mentally broke down little Evgeni through the process of unearned guilt telling Evgeni that he was born an original sinner and he needed to be punished in order to purify his soul. Evegni, as a young child, belived the teacher was a powerful authority not only on a academic level but also as a religious preacher. The teacher continually hammered home to Evgeni time and time again that he was no good and worthless and Evgeni began to believe that he was evil and deserved the punishment that he was receiving. The teacher also told Evgeni that his parents were evil and that he must not communicate with them because they were the ones that had given him the evil genetics.
During my youth as a newspaper delivery boy I had many encounters with animals. Some were good and some were bad. This particular encounter that I am going to share with you was a bad one. It all started early one fall morning at about 5 a.m. when I was making my way up a flight of stairs to drop off some papers in an apartment and as I made my way up the last flight there was a cat whom I had never seen before. It started to cross my path on the landing at the top of the stairs. I paused and so did the cat. The cat then turned to me and gave me a real nasty hiss, but it was more than a hiss. It was a fear face warning; the cat appeared to be smiling at me. I was just about to take my last step when the cat took a wicked swipe at my face. I snapped my head back and smoked him across the head with a newspaper which seemed to agitate him even more. He then lunged at me, hit me with a couple of deep slashes to face and then backed off.
Nearly a decade ago I was working at a small upscale coffee shop in a pretentious part of the city. At first I found the pace of the cafe a little intense and many of the customers to be overbearing and somewhat aggressive towards me. I made many mistakes at first because I wasn't really sure what a proper latte or cappuccino was as all of the customers liked it a certain way. Some liked it very hot others just liked it warm, while some liked frothy lattes and others didn't. I found the work environment rather stressful and on several occasions I wanted to walk out. But my manager was a great guy and very supportive which got me through it.
I had once worked with a girl that at first when I met her she seemed nice and friendly but as time passed people at my place of work began to talk about her saying that she was gossipy and would spread rumors about people, some of which were true and others that weren't. She was a beautiful girl so I passed it off as others being jealous of the attention that she received. I was reluctant to believe any of what I had heard until I became a victim.
