He had stalked the streets for nearly three decades, but never lived in one city for long. He strayed from one city to the next, always keeping away from small towns because in these small towns it was not easy for him to hide and get lost in the crowd. His murders were at random, there was no connection that the police could find between him and his victims. The police were under a tremendous amount of pressure to catch the killer but they were at an impasse for clues. They did not want to admit it, but they did not know where to start. There was only one thing that they had to go on and that was that the killer killed only when there was an opportunity to kill; none of his victims were premeditated. There was no specific age, race or gender that he went after, randomness his modus operandi. And when murder was a matter of opportunity and randomness the police needed a break to find the killer. But for now with the blood thirsty demon still stalking the streets there was nothing they could do except hope for a break.
He was dubbed, "The Blood Thirsty Demon," by the media because all of his kills were done in a brutal fashion with a meat cleaver, as he hacked up his victims like pieces of meat. The attack was always the same. He would stalk his victim and then when the street was quiet and there was no one around he would come up behind them and slash the back of their neck and then drag the victim into alley or a dark area or bush and repeatedly butcher them until their body was completely dismembered and he would then leave the scene of the crime.
The blood thirsty demon had killed a total of 23 people in 15 different cities and through all of it there was never one witness and none of his victims survived; this was something he made sure of. The police had no idea which city he was in or when he would strike next. The fear gripped everyone, including the police as the killings continued.
But a new problem developed for the police as they had arrested three copy cat killers who attacked with a meat cleaver. In all three attacks the victim had lived and had made an identification and the perpetrators were arrested. But then the real blood thirsty demon would strike again in his brutal fashion, leaving nothing to chance and leaving no victims alive.
Months later after the copy cat kills the blood thirsty demon attacked again, but for the first time he didn't kill the victim and there was also a witness. The victim and the witness joined the police composite artist to give a description of the attacker. There were no discrepancies between the witness descriptions as the likeness was uncanny to a man the police had seen before on the streets. The police sent out the picture for immediate circulation as well as a physical description that read, "Male, six foot, 165 pounds, two horns, hoofs, a tale and red complexion. "
